The M.A.Y. (Mentoring All Youth) Program is a unique initiative that brings together returned citizens and youth instructors in a symbiotic mentoring relationship.
We believe that everyone has valuable knowledge and experiences to share, regardless of age, and that fostering these connections can lead to incredible personal growth and community development.
Our program provides a safe and supportive space where returned citizens can gain essential skills for the modern world, while youth instructors can hone their leadership abilities and make a meaningful impact in someone’s life.
At the heart of our program is the belief that both generations have something valuable to offer each other.
Youth instructors bring fresh perspectives, technical know-how, and a pulse on contemporary issues, while returned citizens offer a wealth of life experiences, wisdom, and resilience.
By facilitating this exchange of knowledge and experiences, we aim to break down barriers, foster understanding and respect, and empower both generations to thrive.
Through the M.A.Y. Program, we’re building a community where everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a positive impact.
Unique Mentor/Mentee Program: Our Unique Mentor/Mentee Program under the M.A.Y. initiative pairs young individuals with seasoned mentors who not only guide and inspire but also support their mentees towards personal and professional success. These meaningful relationships, grounded in trust and mutual respect, transcend the typical teacher-student dynamic and cultivate a transformative bond that has the power to change lives and make lasting impacts.
Mutual Learning: In the M.A.Y. Program, we champion the concept that learning benefits both the teacher and the student. By bringing together youth with fresh technical skills and returned citizens rich in life experience, we create a collaborative space that breaks down barriers and promotes mutual understanding. This exchange enriches both parties, fostering a vibrant community that embraces change and diversity.
Leadership Skills for Youth Instructors: Our program equips youth instructors with the leadership skills necessary to influence and inspire. They receive training in mentoring, effective communication, and role modelling, learning to foster a supportive educational atmosphere and encouraging personal excellence in others. This experience not only impacts their charges but also lays a solid foundation for their own future as leaders.
Symbiotic Mentoring Relationship:The M.A.Y. Program thrives on the mutual growth fostered by its mentoring relationships. Youth instructors enhance their leadership and empathy skills, preparing them for future challenges, while returning citizens gain vital societal reintegration skills. Together, they cultivate a supportive network that values each individual’s success, strengthening their community and promoting widespread positive change.
